FAST RAFT OCEAN SAFARIS

WHALE WATCHING TOURS OF THE
MONTEREY BAY NATIONAL MARINE SANCTUARY

Fast Raft Ocean Safaris are the most exhilarating way to explore the beautiful Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Our low-to-the-water boat, Ranger, is comfortable, quiet, and highly maneuverable, offering an incredible perspective of marine wildlife and beautiful coastal scenery.

With a maximum of six passengers, each tour is customized to the unique desires of our guests. Each passenger has a front row seat for an exhilarating experience of our amazing ocean wilderness.

Monterey Bay is calling!

To book tickets on public tours, click the calendar and choose a date. If you would like the boat to yourselves on a scheduled public tour simply buy all six tickets. Private charters with custom start times are also available. Email to inquire: reservations@fastraft.com.

For Private Charters, “Call to Book” dates, and requests for dates not available through the calendar, please email reservations@fastraft.com with the number of people, public tour or private charter preference, and date(s) to reserve your spot. Or use our Contact Form. Thank you!

Coronavirus Update: California and Monterey County currently have no Covid-19 restrictions, so masks are generally not required on our boat. The online checkout will require agreement to Covid protocols just in case restrictions are reinstated.

Love our whales? Want to help them?

Please support the Whales of Guerrero project!  This nonprofit is helping the Mexican fishing town of Barra de Potosí, near Zihuatenejo, develop a sustainable economy while protecting our humpbacks in their winter home.

There are school programs, safe whale watch captain training, citizen science training, and an amazing mentorship exchange with the famously successful Baja California gray whale watching network of Laguna San Ignacio. Katherina Audley of Portland, Oregon runs this fantastic program on a shoestring of private donations so let’s help keep it going!

Amazing

"So glad we choose this over the big crowded boats! Being down close is an amazing experience! With only a few other people and our captain made it a personal experience as well. We were able to stop whenever something caught our eye. We found a big group of humpback whales and watched them for nearly an hour. It was just amazing!"

Great morning in the Bay!

"Fast Raft was a great alternative to the larger whale watching boats, which we’ve done in the past. It was fun to be close to the water and follow the whales. Everyone has a view regardless of where you are in the boat. It also felt very safe. The guide/operator, Kate, was very friendly, knowledgeable and skilled with the boat. Really fun!"

Whales Everywhere

"We cannot recommend Captain Kate and Guide Don enough. They are experts in what they do, which is to provide a magical and educational whale-centered experience. They are professionals in every sense of the word. Being surrounded by whales in this special type of boat made all the difference!"
